“You can do anything you want to do!”
Mostly true. You can paint, you can build custom bicycles, you can open a cafe. Not all of us can be astronauts or gold medalists, though.
“You can do anything you want to do for an income!”

False. Absolutely false.

Just because you want to do something doesn’t mean you can trade it with other people for money.

That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do it or even make it a major focus of your life, though. You just have to be realistic about whether it’s something that can support you financially.

There’s nothing wrong with finding a different stream of income that will give you the time and money to pursue your passion.

I see lots of people who struggle to make an income through their passions, laser-focused on doing it a specific way, only to feel like failures, agonize daily, and snuff out the very passion that drove them in the first place.

Ask yourself and answer honestly: Is my passion something that I want to turn into an income, or would I be happier finding an income that lets me pursue my passion?
