TER 003: Sucking Less with Missy Campau
Missy Campau is driven, honest, and blunt, all of which are good things when you’re trying to run a business in the outdoor recreation space. And run a business she has!
She once visited Traverse City, Michigan, and saw kayaks and Stand Up Paddleboards (SUPs) on almost every vehicle. Her dream was to see just as many on the cars and trucks of her home town, Port Huron.
Fast forward a few years and Missy is now the successful owner of Missy’s Kayak Connection, has established a wildly popular social paddling event, and is directly responsible for the sudden and notable increase in kayaks on the vehicles of Port Huron.
In this interview, Missy tells us about her thoughts on integrating business and community, how she invests in herself, and what it’s like to work for someone else and decide that, by golly, you could do it better on your own.
She’s one of my favorite people and I’m sure that you’ll enjoy hearing her story just as much as I did!
