We live our narratives. The stories that you tell about yourself become your truth.
One of my friends has created a story about how she’s loyal, always dependable, and is great at juggling everything that comes at her. Because of that story, she seeks out opportunities to show the people around her how loyal and dependable she is. The reality leaves her with no time to take care of herself and means that she puts everyone else’s needs ahead of her own.
It might be a nice story, but it’s a very unhappy reality for her.
Is your story also a good reality? If not, it might be the wrong story to tell yourself and others.
