It seems obvious that we shouldn’t try to copy somebody else, because we – quite simply – aren’t that other person. But so many of us fall into a similar trap: we try to be original and, in doing so, are still pretending to be someone that we aren’t.
If you’re genuine and true to yourself, the originality will come to the surface on its own. It’s your quirks, strengths, and unique traits that make you unmistakable. Abandoning those things in the pursuit of originality is a cruel irony that rarely works out.
